Donnie B. Hughes

On Monday, October 9, 2023, Donnie B. Hughes, our brother in Christ transitioned to be with the Lord at the age of 72 at HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Donnie began his journey called life on November 28, 1950. He was born in Cottonwood, Alabama to parents, Lenora Brown Gerald, mother and Lonnie B. Hughes, father. He moved to Fort Pierce early in life and received his education through the St Lucie County School system graduating from Lincoln Park Academy in 1969. As a young man he moved to New Jersey where he spent most of his adult life working as a laborer in manufacturing plants with his longest time at Johnson and Johnson, Inc. Donnie retired early due to health issues.
He gave his life to Christ many years ago. After his mother's death he moved back to Fort Pierce and joined The Apostle Faith Church of Deliverance. He faithfully attended the Wednesday morning prayer service there and took great delight in the Word of God. His favorite scripture was the 23rd Palms and favorite verse: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Donnie is survived by his sisters, Patricia Hughes-Woods, Sarah(Greg) Whitley and Missn. Linda Ivey; Brothers, Calvin Hughes, Aldophus Hughes, and Lonnie B. Hughes, Jr.; and a host of of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. He had a special friend, Gladys Foxx who took the time to cook for him and didn't fail to check on him.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Lenora Brown Gerald, father, Lonnie B. Hughes, brother, Elder Julius Ivey and sister, Grazell Hughes-Douglas.
