Donnio "Tony" J. Chiarello, 88, of Hamilton passed away Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Serenity Hospice of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, Tony was raised in the Chambersburg neighborhood. He served in the US Army, and after his time in the military, he briefly lived in Las Vegas and Hammonton before returning to the Trenton-Hamilton area.
Tony worked in the Las Vegas and Atlantic City casinos as a Dealer, Boxman, and Pit Boss. Prior to retirement he worked for the Hamiton Township Board of Education as a custodian at the Grice School.
In years past, Tony loved to water ski and golf. He also enjoyed fishing, dancing, and cooking for family and friends. Most importantly, Tony was devout in his faith and cherished his family. Tony treasured time with his granddaughter and great grandson. He will be fondly remembered as a true gentleman with a kind and generous spirit.
Tony was predeceased by his parents Antimo and Antonetta Chiarello; his siblings and in-laws, Dominic and Philip Chiarello, Mary and John Monteverde, Theresa and William Quinn, Rose Marie and Michael Dargay, Carmella and Ralph Persico, Nando Minelli, Alice Havens, Robert Burns, Mary Lou and Walter Crary, Rosalie and Walter Swiderski, Elizabeth and Fred Micharski, Margaret and William Golden, Robert Gileo, and Ellsworth and Donald Robbins.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Veronica P. (Robbins) Chiarello; his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Beth and Michael Leary; his son, Paul Foy and his companion, Sharon Ryan; his granddaughter and her husband, Alyssa and Edward Cooper; his great-grandson, EJ Cooper; his siblings and in-laws, Santina Minelli, Josephine and Frank DiBella, Frank and Agostino Chiarello, Ruth Burns, Ellen Gileo, and Millie and Vicky Robbins; and his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Anthony R.C. Church, 626 South Olden Avenue, Hamilton, NJ, with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11:00 a.m.
Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tony's memory to Toys for Tots by visiting www.toysfortots.org.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.
