Donzell Harding, 31, of Wichita and formerly of Parsons, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023, in Wichita.
Donzell Maurice Harding was born on December 18, 1991, to Michael Eugene Harding and Christina Dee Winkler in Wichita, Kansas. He grew up and attended school in Parsons, graduating from Labette County High School.
He worked as a welder at Opusing and at Case Manufacturing in Wichita. For a time, Donzell also worked as a nurse's aide for Phoenix Home Healthcare.
Known as a "grill master," Donzell enjoyed sharing his cooking and grilling talents with his family and friends. An avid sports fan, he liked to watch and play basketball, football and baseball and enjoyed lifting weights. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan.
Survivors include:
One son – Santiago Gutierrez of Wichita, Kansas
His mother – Christina Winkler of McCune, Kansas
His father – Michael Harding of Wichita, Kansas
One sister – Aquila Abernathy of McCune, Kansas
One step-sister – Jordan Preston of Ada, Oklahoma
Maternal grandmother – Barbara Winkler of Parsons, Kansas
Maternal grandfather – George Winkler of Parsons, Kansas
Paternal grandmother – Phyllis Harding of Parsons, Kansas
Maternal great-grandmother – Joan Bartlett of Flagstaff, Arizona
Several aunts, uncles and cousins
His beloved Pocket Bully dog – Comma
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Marshall Abernathy; his paternal grandfather, Welton Harding; and his great-grandfather, Bob Bartlett.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 16, 2023, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Parsons. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials are to the family to be allocated later. Please make checks payable to Christina Winkler. These may be left at or mailed to the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
