Doreen Schreiber

Doreen L. Schreiber, 60, of Kiel, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, at home, surrounded by family. Doreen was born April 20, 1965, to the late Norman and Patricia (Fisher) Krebsbach. She graduated from Kiel High School in 1983. On September 6, 1986, she married Leon Schreiber at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel. Together, they raised their two children, Keri and Eric, spending their time camping, playing games and visiting with friends and relatives.

Doreen was employed by Van Horn Automotive for over 25 years where she met many lifelong friends. Doreen loved to be with her family and friends above all, especially her grandchildren and her mother. Doreen loved to paint ceramics, create craft projects and go camping nearly every weekend in the summer.

In addition to her husband of nearly 40 years, Leon, she is survived by daughter Keri (Paul) Pingel, son Eric (Hilary) Schreiber, grandchildren Braxton, Atticus, Sylvia, Graham, Lewis, Mae and Arthur, goddaughter Marilee Krebsbach, sister Beverly (Bill) Hellmer, brothers Allen (Jennica) Krebsbach and Brian (Lori) Krebsbach, nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, and too many friends to name.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brother Anthony Krebsbach.

"We are eternally grateful to have shared many wonderful memories with our mother. We will carry her love and joy in our hearts forever."

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church (423 Fremont Street, Kiel). The family will greet family and friends on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt-DeTroye Funeral Home (815 6th Street, Kiel) from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday, at the church, from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., when brief family rites will be held. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Doreen's family is thankful to her many friends who cared for her, not only over the past months, but throughout her life. She loved them all very much.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Froedtert Cancer Center and Aurora Hospice for their care.
