Jeanette Wriedt, 95, of Kiel died peacefully Saturday October 4, 2025 at her home with her daughter at her side. She was born July 26, 1930, daughter of the late Clarence and Orela (Wuestenhagen) Illig. She attended Millersville grade school, was the Valedictorian of Howards Grove class of 1948 and attended Sheboygan Business College. She worked in the office of Schultz Brothers, which is now Piggly Wiggly.

On June 28, 1952 she was united in marriage to Myron H. Wriedt at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in the Town of Herman. The couple adopted two children, Brian and Polly. They owned Western Cheese from 1967 until 1979. Jeanette was the bookkeeper and helped in the factory. When it was sold, they moved to the Rockville area. Myron and Jeanette enjoyed bus trips and traveled to most states, Hawaii and Europe. In England, she met her pen pal with whom she had corresponded from 1946 until 2014. She continued to exchange Christmas cards with her pen pal's daughter. Myron preceded her in death on December 12, 2013. She then moved to Kiel.

Jeanette was a woman of strong faith. She was a member of Bethlehem UCC, teaching Sunday school and Bible school, directing Junior Choir, was a member of the Bethlehem Ladies, the Worship Design team and the Senior Choir. At Christmas, she gave greeting cards to the residents of four nursing homes from the church and gave potholders to the Kiel Food Pantry.

Jeanette had a deep love of family and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with them. She will be missed by her family, friends and community. She was talented and creative. Jeanette made many gifts by sewing, crocheting, embroidery, oil painting and porcelain painting. She also enjoyed setting puzzles, which was a family affair.

Survivors include her daughter; Polly (Bruce) Jeanty, grandsons; Bryan Jeanty (Kristi Susen), Benjamin (Cassie) Jeanty, step grandson; Chad (Sara) Jeanty, great grandchildren, Jayden and Zander Jeanty; step great grandchildren; Allyson Jeanty (Allen Steffen), Ryan Jeanty and Dylan Jeanty along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Clarence and Orela, husband; Myron, son; Brian, sisters; Bernetta (Harold) Brendel, Margaret (DuWayne) Erdmann, brother; Ernst (Alice) Illig, father-in-law and mother-in-law; August and Alvina Wriedt, brother-in-law; Vernon (Delores) Wriedt, sister-in-law; Carol (Walter) Meiselwitz, nephew; Dennis Meiselwitz.

Funeral services for Jeanette will be held at 2:00pm on Monday October 13, 2025 at Bethlehem UCC (11608 Lax Chapel Rd. Kiel) Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A time of visitation will take place at the church on Monday from 11:00am until 1:45pm.

Jeanette's family would like to thank all the residents at Kristel Hts. for their friendships and helping her in so many ways. She valued all of their friendships. They also would like to thank the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the compassionate care given to Jeanette in her last days.
