Dorian Dee Fillmore
ORANGEVILLE-Dorian Dee Fillmore, age 73, passed away July 28th, 2024. He was a beloved father, husband, brother, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Dee was born, along with a twin brother, on October 1, 1950 in Price, Utah to Cloyd and Lucille Fillmore. He spent his school-age years growing up in Lawrence, Utah. After graduating from Emery High School, Dee married Denise Luke and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. Together they had one daughter. They later divorced.
Dee moved back to Emery County in 1971. Soon after he married Linda Simms. They had two children and later they divorced.
On March 10, 1989 Dee married the love of his life Renae Gardner. Between the two of them they brought together a lasting family with 6 children.
Dee worked at Deer Creek and Trail Mountain coal mines. He retired on December 30, 2000. He became a truck driver for DNW trucking and later went to work for Dyna-pump where he had the chance to travel to different parts in the world. He then retired again in 2009. Throughout his career he was known for his hard work, intelligence and dedication.
One of Dee's biggest passions was shooting pool. He, and a couple of friends started the Budweiser Pool League in 1983. If you ever played pool in Carbon or Emery County you either played or learned something from him. He was always willing and eager to share his knowledge.
Dee was also an avid hunter. He loved spending time with family and friends either up in the mountains hunting deer and elk, or out in a field seeing who could get the most groundhogs.
Dee is survived by his loving wife, Renae; his children, DeLynda (Steve), Deidra (Kenny), Desmond (Sherry), Mickie (Nathan), Buck (Lisa), and Lacie (Chase); 32 grandkids and 19 great grandkids; siblings, Myrle Tanner, Joan (Sam) McCloud, Lee (Irene) Fillmore; sisters-in-law, Freda Fillmore and Ann Fillmore.
Dee was preceded in death by his parents, Cloyd and Lucille; his brothers, David and Merrill Fillmore; brother-in-law, Wes Tanner; father-in-law, Kendall Gardner and step father-in-law, Chuck Harris.
Funeral service, Saturday, August 3, 2024, 11:00 a.m., Orangeville Second Ward. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (720 North Center Street) in Castle Dale and Saturday at the church one hour prior to service. Interment, Orangeville City Cemetery. Arrangements are in the trusted care of Fausett Mortuaries where friends and family are always welcome and may share memories online at www.fausettmortuary.com.
