Doris Jean Atchinson (nee Sullivan), passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024, in Greenville, SC. Born on November 6, 1931, in Chattanooga, OK, (Doris) Jean lived in Iowa, Colorado, and Michigan before retiring to South Carolina.
Jean's journey through life was shared with her beloved husband of 68 years, Ray William Atchinson. She was a loving mother to her children, Ray Atchinson II, Bob Atchinson, John Atchinson, and Kathryne Dowdle.
An avid reader, Jean was also a writer who kept extensive journals of her thoughts about life and spirituality. She loved her gardens and the birds that lived in them. These two avocations were reflected in her cherished collection of angel and bird figurines.
She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as by the many other lives she touched with concern and care throughout her life.
