Ray William Atchinson, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away on September 3, 2024, in Greenville, SC. He was born on January 11, 1932, in Midland, MI. Ray's life was characterized by his friendly nature and the warmth he extended to everyone he met.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Doris Jean Atchinson, by his children, Marcia Wise, Ray Atchinson II, Bob Atchinson, John Atchinson, and Kathryne Dowdle, and by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Those who knew Ray will remember him for his unwavering positivity and the genuine care he showed to friends and strangers alike. He is especially remembered by his brother in Christ, Ian McKinley, from the Thursday morning Men’s Group at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church of Mauldin. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
