Doris Jackson Childers

It is with deep sorrow that the Childers family announces the passing of Doris Ellen Jackson Childers, 84, and wife of the late Kenneth Edward Childers, of Cross Hill, on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the home of her daughter in Camden, SC.
Doris was born on October 5, 1941, in Johnsonville, SC, to the late Paul Jefferson and Ruby Mae Bass Jackson. Before her retirement from the maintenance department at Wal Mart Distribution, she also worked as an operator for the Rock Hill Telephone Company and at Hermitage Industries.
Doris is survived by three children, Beverly Ann Smoak (Thomas), Pamela Wise, and Kimberly Childers; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by a brother Harold Gene Jackson; a sister, Barbara Jackson Kuit; and a sister-in-law, Kathryn Jackson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 14, 2025, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel, conducted by Rev. Ben Rumph. The family will receive friends at the mortuary immediately following the service.
