A graveside service for Mrs. Doris Coleman, 96, of Anniston, will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Forestlawn Gardens in Golden Springs. Dr. Roland P. Brown will officiate.
Mrs. Coleman passed away November 16, 2025.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, Mrs. Coleman was a loving presence in the lives of her family. She cherished her children and grandchildren, always finding joy in spending time with them and supporting them in every way. Her family was the center of her life, and she will be deeply missed by those who loved her most.
A woman of great faith, Mrs. Coleman was a longtime member of Golden Springs Baptist Church, where she found strength and peace through her devotion to Christ. Her faith shaped every aspect of her life, and she was known for her kindness, compassion, and generosity.
Mrs. Coleman had a distinguished career, working for many years at Fort McClellan, with the Social Security Administration in Owensboro, KY, then at the Anniston Army Depot. Throughout her professional life, she was admired for her work ethic, integrity, and dedication.
She will also be remembered for her extraordinary generosity. Whether it was through acts of service, support for those in need, or simply offering a listening ear, she was always ready to help others. Her kindness and selflessness touched the lives of many, and her legacy of love and compassion will live on in all who knew her.
Mrs. Coleman is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Lowell Everett Coleman; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.R. Tucker; and her brothers, Billy Joe Tucker and Charles Edward Tucker.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Linda Turner (Warren) of Anniston; her son, Dr. Charles Jerome Coleman (Julie) of Aiken, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Jennifer Maddox Ellis (Robert), Mark Maddox (Nikki), Dean Coleman, and Kathleen Coleman; three great-grandchildren, Haley Maddox Smith (Caleb), Elizabeth Ellis Wert (Jack), and Andrew Ellis; and a great- great-grandson, Everett Smith.
