Dorothy (Sik) (Antony) Citrowske was born on February 1, 1935, to Paul and Martha (Panka) Sik in Hansonville Township, Hendricks, MN. She was baptized, made her first communion, and was confirmed in St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno, MN. She attended country school in Marble Township. On November 17, 1953, she married Walter Antony in St. John Cantius Church in Wilno, MN. To them eight children were born. Walter passed away on July 9, 1966. On February 6, 1971, she married Isidore Citrowske at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Canby, MN. To this union a daughter, Nancy, was born. After her marriage to Isidore, Dorothy and her children moved to Isidore's farm with his seven children near St. Leo, MN. In 1977, she and Isidore moved their family to Canby, MN.
Dorothy was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, St. Peter's CCW, and Canby Hospital Auxiliary. She worked part-time at Larry's Rexall Drug for over 20 years. Farming was a life-long enjoyment for Dorothy. Dorothy and Isidore enjoyed preparing for holiday gatherings with their family. They made great family traditions. Dorothy would stay up all hours of the night to bake 17 pumpkin pies from scratch and served two 25 lb. turkeys for Thanksgiving. Christmas Eve was always a meal with all kinds of baked goodies including popcorn balls, as well as a visit from Santa. For many years, they also served a huge meal and gathering on Christmas Day as well. Lasting memories were made with every holiday. Dorothy enjoyed cooking and baking for her large family. Nobody EVER left her house hungry!! Many family memories were made when working together in mom's large garden, as well as picking rock and pulling weeds in the bean fields. The family worked hard together but also had lots of fun. They enjoyed fishing for bullheads, camping and boat rides. Dorothy also enjoyed polka dancing, embroidering and doing puzzles. Dorothy and Isidore enjoyed traveling together with other couples in their retirement. Dorothy loved children and treasured time spent with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
Dorothy leaned on her strong faith to help her navigate through her trials in life. She was a rock for her family and taught us to put God first and always keep family close. She was a self-less person with a sweet soul, who was a care taker all of her life.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Viola (Rodney) VanDeViere of Canby, MN; Leo Antony of Porter, MN; Darlene (Laurie) Antony of Farmington, MN; Bernie (Keith) Wisniewski of Canby, MN; Wally (Sandy) Antony of Canby, MN; Margaret (Ron) Singsaas of Canby, MN; Nancy (Brian) Hanson of Granite Falls, MN; and son-in-law Darwin Schlapkohl; Deanne VanCanneyt, of Wyoming, MN; Ron (Lynn) Citrowske of Porter; David Citrowske of Savage, MN; Richard (Karen) Citrowske of Ham Lake, MN; James (Elvira) Citrowske of Elcino, CA; and Grace Bedor of Minneapolis, MN.
