Dorothy Bell (Walker) Dauteuil, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 31, 2025, at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis "Stu" Dauteuil with whom she shared 52 years of marriage until his passing in 2018.
She was born in Lowell, on October 16, 1934, and was the daughter of the late William H. and Rhoda C. (Angell) Walker.
Dorothy was raised in Lowell and attended the Lowell Public Schools. She was a graduate of Lowell High School class of 1952. She was employed by Anton cleaners and the Internal Revenue Service where she worked as a data specialist until her retirement. Dorothy loved to travel, read, dance and listen to music, as well as watch Sunday football and Nascar. She was an active member of the Christ Church United where she enjoyed her weekly coffee social with friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her brothers James and William Walker and sister Hazel Dodge.
Dorothy leaves her children, Linda Proulx and husband Joseph of Londonderry, NH, Allan Thompson and wife Kim of Dracut, MA, Stephen Thompson and wife Robin of Hudson, NH, and Scott Dauteuil and wife Karen of Pelham NH. She was the devoted grandmother to eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, also two nieces and her dear friend Trish, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Her legacy lives in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Relatives and friends are invited to Dorothy's Life Celebration on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 9 AM to 11 AM at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT followed by her funeral service at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment to be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, CHELMSFORD.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's name to a charity of your choice.
