Dorothy Ann Hutcherson was born on August 7, 1947, to the union of Thomas Hutcherson, Sr., and Lue Vunior Webb Hutcherson in Collinston, Louisiana. She departed this earthly life on June 26, 2024, at St. Francis Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones.
Dorothy was raised in Monroe, Louisiana, by her uncle and aunt, Henry and Lemon Hutcherson Young. She united with the St. Luke Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Felix Thompson. Dorothy attended Booker T. Washington Elementary and Carroll High School. She was employed by the Monroe City school system where she worked at Lincoln Elementary for over 20 years before retiring. Dorothy was a sweet, kind, loving soul that had the passion for cooking and growing flowers. The love she put into what made her food amazing! Her love for her kids, grandkids, and family were undeniable and something she didn't play about. To know her was to love her.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: two daughters, Mekong and Kenyanna Hutcherson of Monroe, Louisiana; one son, Undinique Hutcherson, Sr. (Chauntel) of Shreveport, Louisiana; three sisters, Alberta and Pearline Hutcherson, and Beatrice Harris, all of Monroe, Louisiana; one sister-in-law, Betty Hutson of McKinney, Texas; eight grandchildren, Undinique Jr., Tynisha, Jemarcus, Jalen, Shaniah, Sydnee, Kenziah, and Jamari; one great-grand, Jemarcus, Jr.; godchildren, Tiyunna Johnson of Tracy, California, Roderick Gibson of Monroe, Louisiana; along with a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
