Kenneth Roy Henry was born on July 6, 1959, to the late Scott and Ella Faye Henry. During Kenneth's time here, he was a faithful worshipper, father, husband, and worker. Kenneth's early years were spent as the ninth child of ten. He was always charismatic and outgoing. He developed a love of karate through his elder brother, Craig Henry. Through this interest, he began to like other activities such as track, basketball, football, and tennis. His accolades were especially in basketball as he accumulated many trophies and even a state championship at Carroll High School with the prestigious class of 1977.
Throughout his life, hard work, and perseverance was something he became very accustomed to. He was a man of many trades as he cultivated numerous skills that strengthened his resume. These skills included paramedics, auto mechanics, firefighting, and construction. Kenneth started with the fire department of Monroe, Louisiana, in 1984 and retired in 2009. This was one of his many accomplishments.
Education was valued in the Henry household and Kenneth displayed that with his many skills and careers. A Caroll High School graduate, C/O 1977, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from University of Louisiana Monroe C/O 2005. Beyond this education, Kenneth obtained multiple certifications and licenses to further pursue his love for knowledge.
"This is the only time in history when I get to fight for God. This is the only part of my eternal story when I am actually in the battle. Once I die, I'll be in the celebration mode in a glorified body in a whole different set of circumstances. But this is my limited window of opportunity, and I'm going to fight the good fight for all I'm worth." ~ Joni Eareckson Tada
Kenneth and Shelia Henry wed in holy matrimony on December 19, 1986. He was survived by: his wife, Shelia Henry; two daughters, Roshawn Wyatt and Amber Henry; a son, Kenneth Henry, Jr.; three sisters, Constance Henry, Phoebe Hudspeth, and Sheila Henry; a brother, Harlan Henry; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
We love and miss you always, but know you will always be with us in spirit. Go ball with the angels now as you continue to do God's work in Heaven!
