Dorothy Mary Wainwright, 74, of Boswell, PA, passed away on January 5, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 29, 1949, to Ronald (Shorty) and Ruth Shinn. Dorothy was a remarkable person, dedicated to her family, her passions, and her community.
Dorothy's passion for education led to a lifelong career as a highly esteemed educator. She devoted her talents and knowledge to teaching generations of students in Eastampton Township, NJ. She instilled an unwavering love for learning and her influence, among her students, will be felt for years to come. Dorothy also had a strong passion for animals. She grew up on Don Dor Dee dairy farm in Columbus, NJ and was heavily involved in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and 4-H club. She loved her dogs (Gunner & Buddy) immensely and was also active in the horse community. Dorothy was a faithful member of Jennerstown Community Church in Jennerstown, PA
Dorothy was a beloved wife to her husband, Ralph Wainwright, with whom she shared many joyful and cherished moments. She was a loving sister and sister-in-law to Darlene Curtis (Robert) and Donald Shinn (Janet). Dorothy was a favorite aunt to her nieces and nephew as well as a caring figure in the lives of Ralph's children and grandchildren. Dorothy is predeceased by her parents and her sister, Linda, who passed away during infancy. Memories of Dorothy's kindness, sense of humor and angelic singing voice will be forever treasured by her family and friends.
The funeral arrangements are being handled by the Huber-Moore Funeral Home in Bordentown, NJ. A traditional service will be held to honor Dorothy's life, and allow her loved ones to come together and pay their respects. A viewing will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Internment at the Columbus Cemetery will follow the funeral service.
Dorothy's presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her unwavering dedication to education and her warm, caring nature touched the lives of many. May her soul find eternal rest, and may her memory be a source of comfort, inspiration, and strength for all who mourn her loss.
