Dorothy Zecca, of Westford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at the age of 79, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Dotty was known for her kindness, generosity, independence, and unwavering spirit. She touched the lives of many with her incredible strength and compassionate heart.
Dotty was born on April 29, 1946, in Lowell, to the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Dadoly) Miliotis. Dotty graduated from Dracut High School as class President. She started her career in the insurance industry and pivoted later in life to helping those with kidney disease with her work at the National Kidney Foundation and Fresenius Medical, where her work in patient education and advocacy left a lasting impact. Dorothy was also an avid walker, which helped her keep cancer at bay for more than 16 years and she loved to travel the world.
Dorothy was a devoted mother of Kenneth Eldridge of Littleton, and Eric and his wife Bonnie Eldridge of Tyngsborough; dear Nan of Conner, Cameron, Zachary and Nicholas Eldridge; and dear sister of her twin Barbara Kenny of Punta Gorda FL, Louise Gibson of Providence, RI, and Sandra Morris of South Carolina, and predeceased by her brother, Paul Miliotis. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Zecca, who she shared so many great times and travels with. She was a caring and selfless mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 10:30 am to 1 pm at Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD, where friends and family will gather to celebrate Dorothy's life and share their fondest memories. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, honoring Dotty's fight against this insidious disease that affects so many.
Dotty will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace.
