Robert John "Robbie" Ryan, 42, a resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 16, 2025.
He was born in Lowell on September 27, 1982, and was the beloved son of Robert W. Ryan and the late Pamela J. (Fuller) Ryan.
Robbie was raised in Dracut and was a graduate of Dracut High School in 2001. Growing up, Robbie had a deep love for music, playing sports, and spending time with friends. He was known for his playful sense of humor --always cracking jokes and rarely taking life too seriously.
He was an avid baseball player in his youth and remained a loyal Boston Red Sox fan throughout his life. He loved playing poker, and dreamed of one day winning big and joining the World Poker Tour. He especially lit up around kids--most of all his beloved nieces and nephews, Olive, Zoe, Jillian, Adelyn, Colton, Austin and Jordyn. He also held the memory of his dear friend Jason Farley close to his heart and missed him deeply.
Despite living the last twelve years with the long-term effects of a traumatic brain injury, Robbie faced life with courage and resilience.
He is survived by his father, Robert W. Ryan and stepmother Denise of Lowell; his sister, Kellie Ballard, her husband William and family; his stepbrother Brad Wagstaff, his wife Lauren and family of Tewksbury; his stepbrother Jason Wagstaff and family of Tewksbury; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends.
He was predeceased by his mother, Pamela J. Ryan, whose love and warmth undoubtedly welcomed him home. He was also predeceased by his older brother Christopher Ryan who passed at birth; and his dog Buddy who spent fourteen years by his side.
Memorial donations may be made in Robert's memory to the Brain Trauma Foundation or the Jason Farley All In For a Cure Foundation.
His Funeral Services will be held privately.
