Douglas R. Divish, a man of remarkable interests and a distinguished career, was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 2, 1944, to the late Richard and Helen Divish. He passed away on September 14, 2025, after a longtime illness. A proud graduate of John Carroll University, Doug went on to a successful business career, culminating in his retirement as the Commissioner of IT for the City of Cleveland in 2017. Beyond his professional life, Doug was an avid collector with a deep-seated interest in Early American, Civil War, Old West, and Native American artifacts. He was a familiar and beloved figure in the community, notably portraying Virgil Earp for many years at Willoughby's Western Days celebration, an honor that often landed his picture on the front page of the News-Herald. His dedication to history extended to his long-standing role as Board Chair of the Indian Museum of Lake County. Doug was also a life-long member of the Lake County RamRod Busters and a proud member of the Ohio Gun Collectors Association. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Indian Museum of Lake County, 7519 Mentor Ave, A112, Mentor, OH 44060.
