Douglas Dowell Obituary
Douglas Richard Dowell of Canton, OH, died unexpectedly February 8, 2024 in his beloved home in Florida. He was born January 3, 1953 to the late Harold and Roberta Dowell (nee Watts). Doug graduated from Jackson High School in 1971. He then spent time in San Bernardino, CA, where he became a certified Scuba Diver Instructor. Upon moving back to Ohio, he became a certified PGA Pro and owned The Range at Boston Heights, Ohio. Doug enjoyed teaching others about the great game of Golf, which is how he spent most of his time. He continued on to graduate from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in 2017.
Doug married the love of his life in 1992, Karen (Klugh) Dowell, who passed in 2019. He was also proceeded in death by his brother Markham Dowell. Doug is survived by his daughter, Alexandra Dowell (David Yoskey), his sister, Deborah McCully (Toby), his brother Michael Dowell (Lesa), his life companion, Veronica Rogers and many other family members and friends.
Doug had a great sense of humor that was coupled by a very contagious laugh. His words of wisdom will be missed by most, but mostly by his daughter.
A celebration of life will be held at later date in Canton, OH.
