Douglas Rex Earl

It is with great sadness yet hope for eternal families we must announce the passing away of our father Douglas Rex Earl in the early morning of March 20, 2023. His eternal companion held his hand as he peacefully slipped away and we are heartbroken to lose him. Doug was a loving sincere man who loved to take care of his wife and family. A great friend and follower of Jesus Christ.
Doug was born November 18, 1951 in Brigham City, Utah to Rex and Dorothy Earl who preceded him in their return to our Father in Heaven. Doug served a full-time mission for the Lord in Kansas City Missouri. He was married and sealed to Susan Joyce Garrard in the Ogden, UT Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on October 3, 1974. Doug had a Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering and a Master's Degree in business. He worked in manufacturing maintenance as a manager for the majority of his career. He loved teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, spending time with his family, playing golf, enjoying holidays especially Thanksgiving and always honoring our rights and freedoms we enjoy in our blessed country.
Mourning his loss are, his beloved wife; children, Kimberly Sue Earl, Benjamin Douglas Earl, and Stacey Joyce Melton(Andrew); grandchildren, Michael Anthony Gregson Jr., Emma Sue Melton and Preston Andrew Melton; brother James Earl(Barbara); and sister Ann Coppin(Patrick). Doug also has several grandchildren who also preceded him to the spirit world; one named Kayla Sue. We would love for those who knew him to remember his life with us at the Stroudsburg Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Saturday, March 25th. Viewing will be from 9-11 am and funeral service immediately following. We will then take dad to the Stroudsburg Cemetery for grave dedication and burial.
