Douglas Richard Goers

Douglas Richard "Doug" Goers, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, in Neenah. He was born on July 12, 1928, to the late Ervin and Helen (Reichel) Goers in Shawano, Wisconsin. Doug graduated from Shawano High School, then went on to do two tours of duty with the U.S. Navy. On October 25, 1954, he was united in marriage to Joyce Hoffman at St. Francis in Gresham. Doug worked at Goers Brothers in Shawano, then would later work with Don Goers Buick-Pontiac until retirement.
Doug is survived by his wife Joyce of 70 years; his daughter Tami (Fred) Dekeyser; his son-in-law Chuck (Fiancé Julie) Buckbee; his grandchildren Averi (Rod) Peralta and Shane (Leslie) Buckbee; his great-grandchildren Alex, Braxton (fiancé Taylor), Miley, Gabriela, and Santana. He is further survived by many fury animals
Doug is preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter Peggy Buckbee.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Pastor Andrew Zobel will be officiating. Visitation will be held at 9:30 am until the time of service at the church. Entombment will be at Sacred Heart Mausoleum, Shawano AM VETS Post 10 conducting honors.
