Douglas Michael Kriech, 39, of Indianapolis, passed away August 10, 2024. Doug was born to Anthony and Andrea Kriech on December 19, 1984. Douglas earned his Bachelor of Arts from Wabash College in 2007. He then earned his PhD in Chemistry in 2014 from the University of Utah. Doug worked in research at Heritage Research Group until his passing. Doug had a wide variety of interests including woodworking, rock and mountain climbing, and competitive target shooting.
He is survived by his parents; and siblings, Matthew Kriech and Jessica Kriech-Higdon. Doug had three nephews, Evan, Ewan, and Wilder and one niece, Zoey.
Services will be held privately: Doug had a deep love for Chemistry and our National Parks. Doug spent much of his free time climbing and hiking. In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts be made in memory of Doug to Wabash College, 301 W. Wabash Ave., Crawfordsville, IN 47933, Wabash College. Memorial gifts will support an endowed scholarship in Doug’s name. Alternatively, a donation to The National Parks Foundation in Doug’s name would be appreciated.
Doug lived a full, but brief life, by living each day as a gift to be appreciated and cherished.
