Douglas Kull, 72, of Louisville Kentucky passed away on July 17, 2024, surrounded by family. He was born to Imogene and James Kull on September 12, 1951, in Beech Grove, Indiana. He moved to Jeffersontown KY in 1959. He was a graduate of Eastern High School class of 1969. Douglas married the love of his life Janet Ford on January 23, 1982. He worked in the printing ink industry for over 40 years. He was in sales and co-owned National Printing Ink, later Hostmann Steinberg. He was an active member of Christ Lutheran for over 60 years. For many of those years he played on the men's softball team, men's bowling league and was head usher at 8:30 service. He enjoyed gardening, playing poker with friends and had a love of IndyCar racing. He attended 51 Indianapolis 500 races. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Janet Kull; daughter, Melissa Turpen (Nick); son, Christopher Kull (Laura); granddaughters, Molly & Nora, and step grandchildren Connor & Peyton; brother, Michael Kull (Kathy), many nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be from 2-8pm on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Owen Funeral Home 9218 Taylorsville Road, Louisville KY 40299. Funeral service will be at 10am on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Christ Lutheran Church with burial at Grove Hill cemetery in Shelbyville Kentucky. Expressions of sympathy can be made to his church Christ Lutheran in Jeffersontown, Kentucky.
