Beloved Husband, Father and Friend
December 24, 1961– June 11, 2025
With deep sadness and profound love, we announce the passing of Douglas Morris, age 63, of Mount Prospect, Illinois. Originally born and raised in Birmingham Alabama. Doug passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, with family by his side after a long battle with complications following a double lung and liver transplant in February.
Doug was a man of many passions. But none were greater than the love and the life he shared with his beautiful wife, Marcia. Doug cherished her deeply during the past seven years and pictures prove that he truly lit up in her presence.
Doug had a lifelong love for music just like his father. He was an avid album collector, a gifted guitarist, and a proud curator of an impressive guitar collection. Whether he was strumming a favorite tune or simply listening to the classics and reminiscing, music was the rhythm of his life.
He devoted forty-one years of loyal service to The Fields Auto Group, where he found both purpose and pride in his work. Fields was not just a job to Doug. It was his home, his Family. His commitment to his work and integrity left a lasting impression on all who was fortunate to work alongside him.
Doug found happiness spending time with his family and friends in the backyard, BBQing, swimming in the pool or hosting annual corn roasts. He also held a special place in his heart for his Southern roots, especially those times he spent visiting his beloved Aunt Kay in Valdosta, Georgia.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Marcia Morris, of Mount Prospect, IL; his son Brad Morris (fiancée, Jessie Marsala) of Edison Park, IL; and his daughter Kayleigh (Taylor) Paepke of Waukesha, WI. He is also survived by his sister Debbie (Terry) York of Jacksonville, Fla, his Aunt Kay (Bob) Bolton of Valdosta, GA; sisters-in-law Judith Ksandr Yurkovich (Lannon, Wi) and Janeen Ksandr (Alan) Wagner, Plainfield, IL. Stepdaughters Michelle (Roger) Bates of Basildon, UK, Melinda Chamberlin of Lake in the Hills, IL. Step -grandchildren: Tanner, Dylann, Parker, Henry, and Scott. Step-granddaughter, Rylee. And his lifelong best friend and brother Jimmy (Kathleen) Nugent of Crystal Lake, IL. Along with many more nieces, nephews, neighbors, friends and colleagues.
Doug was preceded in death by his first wife Joanne Ksandr Morris (d.2017), his mother Linda Mae Wilkins (d.2014) his father Martin Azelle Morris (d. 2020) and brother-in-law Luke Yurkovich (d. 2019).
A memorial gathering of family and friends will be from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Matz Funeral Chapel in Mt. Prospect IL, with a Celebration of life/Remembrance and music starting at 3pm.
Doug's music may be quiet now, but echoes of his love laughter and legacy will resonate within us forever.
