Doyle Glenn Painter, Jr., 86, a cherished member of his family and community, passed away October 23, 2025, at the O.S.U. Hospital in Columbus. Born on June 11, 1939, in Columbus, he lived a life characterized by dedication, love, and commitment to those around him.

Doyle was a self-taught electrician, known for his exceptional work with AEP, where he contributed to the building of sub-stations. His skills and knowledge made him a respected figure in his profession, where he often utilized his hands and heart to solve problems and improve the infrastructure of his community.

A proud graduate of Linden McKinley High School in Columbus, Doyle carried the values of hard work and perseverance throughout his life. He nurtured his relationships and remained a devoted family man, taking pride in being a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. Doyle is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn (Carpenter) Painter of Marysville; his daughters, Diana (Bob) Paxton of Carlsband, CA and Linda (James) Slifko of Zanesfield; granddaughters, Stephanie (Kienan) Coffman and Caprice (Adamah) VanArsdale; great-grandsons, Kurt Winter and Paxton Coffman; brothers and sisters, Marie Turner of Gahanna, Ralph Painter of Thornville, Jeannie Hughes of Columbus, and Russell Painter of Hilliard; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Doyle had a zest for life that included a range of hobbies and interests. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and in his younger years, hunting, all of which brought him joy and allowed him to connect with nature and his loved ones. His lifelong dream was to own a farm, which he achieved and dearly enjoyed throughout the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Anna Louise (Baker) Painter, Sr.; a daughter, Brenda Painter; his grandsons, Jason and Garret Winter; as well as his brothers Barney, Tommy, and Jerry Painter, and sister Karen Painter.

"Diane and Linda would like to stress our gratitude for such a wonderful Father who taught us values, respect and helped us prepare for successful, loving lives."
