Druzilla Phillips was born on September 2nd 1942 in Rayville, La. She passed away on January 25 at Midland Memorial Hospital. Being one of seven children, her life was always an interesting one. She was given the nickname Pud at an early age and is what everyone knows her by. She married Edward (Cooney) Phillips in 1968 in Louisiana. Their journey together has never been a dull one.
The oilfield took them to New Mexico, Oklahoma, and then to West Texas. After living in Midland for 31 years, they finally settled in Big Spring. She enjoyed hunting and also fishing at their lake home at Cat Island, Louisiana & Lake Leon in Eastland, Texas.
She had a passion for growing beautiful flowers, trees & vegetables. Her love and care of hummingbirds, peacocks, chickens & even turtles was amazing. Her giving heart & love for her family will always be remembered. Especially for her grandchildren, that she cherished most of all.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Ellen Strahan, her brothers Estes (Buddy), Eugene, John (Tot) and her sister Betty Nappier.
She is survived by her husband Edward Phillips, Three children, seven grandchildren, Two sisters, and many nieces & nephews. Her daughter Vickie and husband David Lewis live in Papalote, Tx; son Richard Watson and wife Kem reside in Big Spring; and daughter Sonya and her husband Mike Davidson also of Big Spring. Grandchildren are Cameron Wheeler, Covan Davidson, Caden Davidson, Amanda Stevens, Amber Stevens, Dyllen Workman and Jasmine Hill. Sisters are Faye Brown and LaVerne Tyson.
Her scars have been removed, her pain has gone away and she is now rejoicing in heaven.
Private graveside service will be held at Trinity Memorial Park.
