Earl John Veillon, 83, of Ville Platte, Louisiana passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2024 in Kiln, Mississippi. He was a longtime resident of Lakeshore, Mississippi. Earl was a waiter for many years at Ponchartrain Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana. He had a passion for gambling at local casinos and was an avid football and baseball fan, never missing a chance to watch his favorite teams play, the Saints and the Atlanta Braves. Earl later retired from the Hancock County School District in Mississippi.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Earl is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn "Suzette" Veillon, his parents, Delta and Cammie Veillon, his brothers, Winston Veillon and Willard Veillon, and his sisters, Ethel Vidrine, Bobby Rose Dupree, and Patsy "Pat”Verdin.
Survivors include his daughters, Cynthia "Cindy" Shiyou and her husband George "Wayne" Shiyou, Bridgett Cox and her husband, Tim Cox, and his son, John "Richie” Veillon. His grandchildren, Felicia Arnold, Amanda Veillon, Jessica Shiyou, Stephanie Arnold, Ashley Freeman, Kayla Malley, Karl Ellis, Thearon Ellis, James "Dillon" Veillon, and Shane Veillon. His great-grandchildren, Madison Rose, Brennon Mitchell, Tyler Gomillion, Anaysia Fulton, Amber Fulton, Brandon "Ty" Saucier, Kayden Franks, Trayton Malley, EmmaGrace Green, Aubrey Freeman, Kadelyn Malley, Kohen Freeman, and Layla Veillon, along with many nieces and nephews and extended family members. He was expecting his first great- great grandchild, Iyla Gomillion, later this month
Visitation will be at Riemann Family Funeral Home, Kiln- Delisle Road, in Pass Christian, MS, on Saturday, August 17th, 2024 beginning at 9:00 AM with the funeral service at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will be at Waveland Cemetery.
