Eathelene Dee Thompson, affectionately known by her family and friends as “Dee”, transitioned from this world to her heavenly resting place on October 26, 2025, in the comfort of her home after a brief illness.
Dee was born to Eathel and Virgil Glosson on October 22, 1954, in Strong, Arkansas. After completing her early education, Dee moved to Ruston, LA, where she attended Louisiana Tech University. There, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology. Dee spent the majority of her professional career as a valued employee of Ochsner E.A. Conway Hospital. Her commitment and professionalism left a lasting impression on her colleagues and the countless patients she served over the years.
Dee expressed tremendous love for her family and friends. Her generosity was immeasurable- she would gladly give you the shirt off her back. Friends and family never left her home empty-handed or without feeling her warmth and kindness.
Dee’s hobbies included reading books by her favorite authors, Nicholas Sparks and Greg Isles; dining with friends and family; spending time with her dogs (Tillie, Bella and Bandit); travelling; and watching football.
Dee is preceded in death by her parents, Eathel and Virgil Glosson; son, Sean Thompson; brother, Charles Buel Hayes; and “aunt,” Dorothy Fay Norris. She is survived by her brother, Bob Hayes (wife, Shirley); niece, Tomi Ballard (husband, Aaron); as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Lynn Honeycutt, Corey Simmons, George Young, and Holdon Simmons. Honorary pallbearer will be Nick Wilson.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. and funeral services at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 30, 2025, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home on Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA 71203.
