Eddie Floyd Rogers, 81, of Winchester, died Monday, June 6, 2022 at his home. He was born September 27, 1940 at Sapulpa, OK, the son of Eulis and Helen A. (Blood) Rogers. He grew up in Belle Gardens, CA and was a 1958 graduate of Belle Gardens High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving four years from 1968 to 1972 during the Viet Nam war. Eddie worked many years as a corrugator operator for the Western Kraft Paper Company in Durango, CA. He moved to Lawrence, KS in 1978 and worked as a corrugator supervisor for Lawrence Paper Company for many years. He worked as a truck driver for Mark Domann and Briggs Trucking until retiring in 2000. Eddie loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, Oklahoma Football, Baseball and Fishing.
He married Clarita Anne Johnson on July 28, 1985 at Oskaloosa, she survives at the home in Winchester. He is also survived by two daughters, Vanessa Bryant, Felicia (Gerald) Richter, both of Winchester, one brother, Eulis "Bunk" Rogers, New Rockford, N.D., one sister, Jewell Rogers, Whittier, CA, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, Craig Rogers and Brian Rogers, three brothers, Clarence "Bus" Rogers, Joe A. Rogers, Jim E. Rogers, two sisters, Susie Rogers and Wilma Rogers.
A Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, June 10, 2022 at Barnett Family Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be at Pleasant View Cemetery in Oskaloosa. Memorials suggested to Jefferson County Friends of Hospice in care of the Funeral Home, P.O. Box 602, Oskaloosa, KS 66066.
