Eddie Stitts

Memorial service for Eddie Stitts, 67, of Piedmont will be Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Noah Olson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 2-3 p.m. Mr. Stitts passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025. Eddie is survived by two children, Shayla McKinney of Birmingham and Matthew Stitts of Piedmont; six grandchildren, Jordan McKinney, Edward McKinney, Jaylon McKinney, Jayla McKinney, Matthew McKinney and Malia McKinney; one great granddaughter, Tatum Weatherspoon; one sister, Mary Thompson of Piedmont; half sister, Zindi Spear of Piedmont; three brothers, Billy Stitts of South Carolina, Vernon Stitts (Alma) of Dansville and Jerry Stitts of Piedmont; mother of his children, Judy Stitts; several nieces and nephews; two aunts, Patrilla Cooper and Jeanette Cooper; and one uncle, James Cooper. Eddie was a lifelong resident of Piedmont where he was a member of Thankful Baptist Church. He was a 1977 graduate of Piedmont High School. Eddie was a former employee of SCT Yarn and retired from CVG Alabama. He enjoyed hunting, turtle fishing and working in his garden. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Mary Stitts; brother, Thurman Stitts; and his grandparents.
