Mrs. Edeltraud (Trudy) Kittel Cahoon, 76, passed away Thursday October 31, 2024, peacefully at her home.
Per her request there will be no services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Trudy was born in Echterdingen, Germany. She was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church. At the age of 18 she married Mack Cahoon, Jr. of Engelhard, NC and moved to the United States.Trudy was a hairstylist until her retirement. She love flowers and nature and was an exceptional cook, baker and homemaker.
Trudy was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Cahoon, Jr.; her parents, Josef and Klara Kittel; and her sisters, Helga Kittel and Gisela Kittel.
She is survived by her: devoted fur baby of 10 years, James; brother, Helmut Kittel and wife, Brigitte; sister, Renate Votaw and husband, Maurice; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss her dearly.
The family thanks her "Sisters of the Heart", Robin Harrington and Katrina Briley and their families for their dedicated, compassionate care during her illness.
A special thanks for their compassionate care to Dr. Misbah Qadir; Beverly Willoughby, nurse navigator and Dr. Tae Lee at ECU Health and also thanks to Gentiva Hospice and Bayada Home Health Care for their compassionate care at her home.
Memorials may be made to Samaritan's Purse, Re: NC Hurricane Helene Relief, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
