Edgar Dale "Eddie" Ray, 57 of Elliottville, Kentucky passed away Friday evening August 30, 2024, at the UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead, Kentucky.
Eddie was born October 28, 1966, in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late Elmer and Yvonia Thomas Ray.
He was a maintenance technician at SRG Global in Morehead and was a graduate of the Big Sandy Community and Technical College receiving a degree in Electronics Technology. Eddie was a member of the Salt Lick Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, music, family get-togethers and the family holiday parties.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Delmer L. Ray, Jimmy R. Ray and Jeffery W. Ray. Two sisters, Anita N. Ratliff and Cherry L. Ray.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Johnson Ray whom he married June 1, 2002. One stepdaughter, Stephanie Evans and her husband Alan of Morehead. One stepson, Dean Johnson and his wife Zainab of Elliottville. Two sisters, Katherine R. Branham and Shirley Hall both of Pikeville. A special granddaughter who was his pride and joy and referred to her as "Babygirl", Audrey Elise Evans of Morehead. Several nieces, nephews and his constant companion, his cat "Callie".
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 5, 2024, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Andy Lands officiating.
Burial will follow in the McDaniel Cemetery in Elliott County with his nephews serving as pall bearers. Honorary pall bearers will be his friends at SRG Global.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 6:00 P.M. Wednesday.
