Edie Hansen

Edie Hansen, 78, of Webster City, died Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Windsor Manor. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to PBS or Treasured Hearts in Edie’s name.

Mary Edythe Conover, the oldest daughter of Robert and Mary Conover was born on August 9, 1947 in Galesburg, Illinois. She graduated from Marquette University (1970) and University of Wisconsin (1971) with a Masters degree in Speech Pathology. She moved to Webster City in 1971 and worked as a Speech Pathologist for 33 years, retiring from the Arrowhead Area Education Agency in 2004. Helping countless children and their families was her calling. Home decorating and women’s fashion were two of her favorite interests which led her to working at Heart -N-Home and Osweilers clothing store in Webster City. She was united in marriage on May 11, 1974 to David Hansen. In retirement she enjoyed reading, knitting and completing puzzles on the dining room table with the help of her family.

She is survived by her children, son, JD Hansen of Mediapolis and daughter, Jill Hansen of Des Moines; sisters, Ann of Zionville, North Carolina, Pat of Lubbock, Texas and brother, Bob of Providence, Rhode Island.

Edie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David; brothers, Jim and Tom and her beloved dog, Foxey Lady.
