Mrs. Edna "Jo" Allen, age 76, of Dawsonville, GA, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, in the comfort of home, surrounded by her loving family.
Jo was born in Rome, Georgia on August 20, 1949, and was the daughter of the late Raymond Rush Tanner & Edna Aileen Fowler Tanner. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Emmett "Richard" Allen, and her siblings, Opal Sue Tanner Minshew, Margaret Jean Tanner Burroso, Tressie Pauline Tanner Alexander, Arthur Rush Tanner, James Franklin Tanner, Daniel Napolian Tanner, and Silvia Yvonne Tanner Reynolds.
Those left to cherish Jo's memory are her loving children, Teresa Elaine "Lannie" Allen Abbott, Jennie JoAnn Allen Abbott, Stephen "Bo" Jonathan Allen, and Andrea Christine Allen Hall; fourteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 2:00pm, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel with Thomas Abbott & Rev. Greg Allen officiating. Delivering Jo's eulogy will be her loving son, Steve "Bo" Allen. Interment will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
