Eduardo Hector Cortez
Born: March 4, 1974 in Lafayette, LA
Died: December 13, 2022 in Liberty Hill, TX
Eduardo Hector Cortez passed away peacefully at his home in Liberty Hill, TX on December 13, 2022. Ed was 48 years old, healthy & lived a very active lifestyle which included several triathlons and a full 140.6-mile Ironman.
Ed was adored by so many. He had an immense network of friends that he loved. Everywhere Ed lived, worked or visited he made lasting friendships. Ed's friends and family cherished his generosity, kindness and compassion. Ed would do absolutely anything for his friends and family. Ed was known for his amazing cooking and baking skills. He loved entertaining and bringing people together with food.
Ed was a brilliant Industrial Engineer graduate of Texas A&M University. Ed had a very successful career that allowed him to travel and see the world. Ed loved A&M football and attended as many games as possible. Ed had recently built his dream home in Liberty Hill. Ed was so proud and excited about the new home and especially the neighborhood. He instantly formed strong connections with his neighbors and became family to them. Ed enjoyed every minute he spent in his beautiful home with his beloved cat Liz.
Ed is survived by his father Reynaldo Cortez, stepmother Oralia Cortez, brother Carlos Cortez, sister Christina Cortez and his beloved cat Liz. Ed is preceded in death by his mother Carlota Cortez and his precious cat Choadie.
George & Cindi Grossling were chosen to be Liz's guardians. Liz is thriving in her new home and very curious about her new kitty sister Lexi. We are forever grateful to them for welcoming Liz into their home.
A celebration of Ed's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday January 8, 2023 at Beck Funeral Home in Cedar Park, Texas. Live stream will be available.
On behalf of his family, thank you to all who have reached out to share condolences and special memories of our beloved Ed. Please continue to keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

I had the pleasure of working and then becoming great friends with Ed at 3M. He would have to travel to NH and I always looked forward to him coming. He was caring, funny, and could brighten the day. I loved to see pictures of his cats. Ed you will be missed, and I am so sorry I did not get out to visit your new home you were so very proud of.
