Edward Ray Bible, 75, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson, Kansas. Ed was born March 7, 1949, in Cherokee, OK, the son of Ross and Iva (Patterson) Bible.
Ed graduated high school in Cherokee, OK and attended the Northwestern Oklahoma University where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree and majored in Economics and minored in Geography. On December 5, 1968, Ed enlisted in the United State Army and was honorably discharged on November 10, 1971. Ed worked for the Regional Planning Commissions in Wisconsin and the City of Hutchinson as an Economic Development Planner. He retired on March 1, 2014. On May 25, 1974, Ed married Cathrine E. Carufel in Austin, TX.
Ed was a member of the Hutchinson Noon Lions Club and the Lysle Rishel American Legion Post #68.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Clara Kirkland and Georgia Sayers; and a brother, Albert Bible.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine; brother, Richard Bible; brother-in-law, Rodney Sayers Sr; and several nieces and nephews.
Per Ed's wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Hutchinson Bethany Nazarene, 408 N. Kent Rd, Hutchinson, KS 67502. Memorial contributions are suggested to Lions Club and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67502.

Ed was my neighbor in Platteville WI. He & Cathy spent hours in their yard tending to their beautiful & numerous flower beds. He was always willing to share his green thumb knowledge. A very kind & helpful neighbor. He even gave me his large extension ladder when they moved to KS. He was a true gem-
