CHOJNOWSKI, Edward Joseph - age 74, of Gaines, died Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Charlotte Medical Center, Punta Gorda, FL. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, February 12, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 9450 Duffield Rd., Gaines with Fr. Robert McKeon celebrant. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-9 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St. Linden where a vigil service will be held 7 PM Friday evening. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association. Mr. Chojnowski was born November 19, 1936 in Flint, the son of Walter and Mary (Baranowski) Chojnowski. He married Elsabeth Beers on September 29, 1956 in Gaines. Mr. Chojnowski worked in sheet metal and roofing for over 35 years and on the family farm. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Secretary and Treasurer of Eng-Law Hunt Club and an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed farming and camping. Surviving are: wife, Elsabeth; three daughters, Marie Brown of Montrose, Melanie and husband, Michael Talbot of Linden, Margaret and husband, John Slavik of South Lyon; seven grandchildren, Alisha, Kimberley, Karl, Michael, Jacob, John and Shannon; brother, Walter Chojnowski of PA, two sisters, Cecilia and husband, Raymond Petteys of Flint, Angela and husband Oden Weston of Swartz Creek; many nieces and nephews.
