Edward Colon February 6, 1959 - August 23, 2024 Edward (Ed) Michael Colon, 65, of West Hartford passed away with his wife Jackie, son David, and daughter Mya by his side on August 23, 2024 after a courageous battle with early-onset Alzheimer's Disease. Despite the challenges, Ed remained a source of inspiration and love to those around him as he demonstrated incredible strength and resilience throughout his journey. Ed was born in New York City on February 6, 1959. He attended Xavier High School and received an undergraduate degree from Bard College. A true New Yorker at heart, Ed remained loyal to the Yankees, Giants, and Rangers, even after leaving the city in 1993. This move, inspired by love, took him to Connecticut to marry a Red Sox fan, attend UCONN Law School, and raise a family. By day, Ed was a dedicated attorney for an insurance company. By night, he was a devoted father who cherished every moment with his family and friends. His culinary skills brought joy and warmth to family gatherings and created lasting memories around the dinner table, especially on Thanksgiving Day. Ed's love for music spanned genres from Classical to Reggae, Blues, and Rock 'n' Roll. Ed's kindness, compassion, and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew him. His legacy of love, family, and the simple joys of life will be cherished by those who had the privilege to share in his journey. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers from The Hebrew Center for Health and Rehabilitation and Constellation Hospice for their compassionate care and support. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the University of St. Joseph Connor Chapel of Our Lady, 1678 Asylum Ave, West Hartford, CT 06117.
