Edward (Ed) Fanning Jr, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather died peacefully at The Gables of Westerville, Westerville, Ohio. Ed was 93 years old. He graduated from the University of Toledo in 1951 with a Bachelors Degree in Education, then served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War from 1951-53. Many of his best stories came from his days in the Marine Corp. He spent most of his professional career as an Executive with the Boy Scouts of America from 1954-78. In later years he was the Executive Director of the Public Accountants Society of Ohio from 1981-87, and the Executive Director of The Ohio Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE) from 1987-93. He retired completely in 2002 after working part time for Midwest Medical as a Sales and Marketing Executive. Ed is survived by his wife Joyce Fanning, children, William Fanning of Athens, OH, David C. Fanning of Westerville, OH; grandchildren, Amy Fanning of Westerville, OH, David E. Fanning of Westerville, OH, Kevin Teeples of Dublin, OH and Nicole Teeples of Westerville, OH; great-granddaughter, Ripley Fanning of Westerville, OH; siblings, Virginia Everson and Wilma Van Gundy. There will be no memorial service.
