Edward Gentry

A memorial service for Edward Gentry, age 76 of Lindale, is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Foundation Baptist Church in Lindale with Pastor James Griffin officiating. Edward passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025, in Tyler. He was born August 8, 1949, in Hopewell, Mississippi to the late David Vanburen and Eunice L.C. (Barnes) Gentry. Edward was a lifelong resident of Lindale where he was a member of Carmel Baptist Church. He served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam and worked throughout his life as a Truckdriver. In his spare time Edward enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing, attending car shows, playing dominos and cards, and spending time with his beloved family. He was preceded in death by wife, Alta Gentry; his brothers, James, Eddie, Denver, and David Gentry. Edward is survived by his children, Michael Gentry and wife, Vanessa of Lindale and Tracii Gentry and husband, Doug of Spokane Valley, Washington; sister, Sara Bolt of Hope, Arkansas; grandchildren, James Vinson IV of Lindale and Rebekah Doss of Spokane, Washington; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
