Joseph Walter Smith, age 41, of Chandler, passed away on August 20, 2025. Born on October 5, 1983, in Muskegon, MI. Joe lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to his family. Joe was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his family-whether it was sharing a meal, laughing together, or simply being present for the people he loved most. Joe had a passion for the open road and could often be found riding his Harley, finding peace and freedom on two wheels. He was also an avid fisherman who loved the quiet moments by the water, rod in hand, often sharing those experiences with family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time in his garden with his daughter along with playing video games with his son. He is survived by his loving wife, Christine Smith; his children, Travis Pilcher and Lorelai Smith ; his mother and bonus father, Patricia and Jerry Dunaway; his father, David Smith; and his sisters, Krysta, Daniel Sosa, Kaidee Dunaway, and Rihnae Creel. Joe also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Joe, aunts, uncles, and numerous other loving family members and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Ivey, Keegan Blackburn, Todd Johnivan, Jerry Dunaway, Jarod Pilcher, and Johnathan Eichelberger. Joe was preceded in death by his beloved Nana and Papaw Johnivan and Grandma and Grandpa Smith, whose memory he cherished deeply. Those who knew Joe will remember him for his kind heart, his loyalty, and his love for family. He lived his life with authenticity and left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. A celebration of Joe's life will be held at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Lindale City Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, share stories, and honor the life of a man who meant so much to so many. Joe will be forever missed, but his love and spirit will carry on in the hearts of all who knew him.
