Edward Phillip Herzog, 80, of Falconer passed away August 3, 2025, in his home surrounded by his family after a brief illness. He was born February 10, 1945. He was the son of Matthew J. Herzog Sr. and Hannah Trask Herzog. A lifelong are resident and retired from Hope's Windows, where he was the Chief Shop Union Steward and Lead Man in the paint shop. Edward was a Sgt. in the US Army Arty. GP, Germany. Ed was an avid outdoorsman. The Herzog's grew up enjoying their family cabin where he taught his family about nature. He also enjoyed fishing, bird watching, gardening, snowmobiling, attending collectible car shows, traveling, reading, and especially loved his family and grandchildren. He is survived by one son Joseph (Diana) Herzog; two daughters: Alecia (Chad) Lindahl, Erynne (Jerry) Rooney; five grandchildren: Garrett Lindahl, Hailey Lindahl, Jacob Rooney, Alivia Rooney, and Conner Rooney. Ed has a surviving sister Clara Dunbar (the MATRIARCH of the Herzog Family). Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Herzog, who he married December 14, 1968. Ed is eternally at peace with his true Love Elaine, his daughter Rene' and grandson Matthew McCann. Ed enjoyed tranquility and simplicity of life. Visitation will not be observed. A celebration will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be donated to the Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Wounded Warrior's.
