Edward E. "Ted" Lidstone

Wallingford-Edward E. "Ted" Lidstone, 86, of Wallingford, Vermont passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Vista Senior Living in Mendon, Vermont. Born on July 7, 1939, in Rutland Vermont, Ted was the son of Ernest E. and Mildred E. (Ott) Lidstone. He graduated from Wallingford High School and Vermont Technical College. Ted married his high school sweetheart, Judith L. Seward in Wallingford, VT on June 11, 1960. He started work after college at Central Vermont Public Service for several years and then the remainder of his career at Vermont Electric Power Company until his retirement in 1999. Ted loved being involved in his community, where he was a member of the Wallingford Rotary Club for over 25 years, President and member of the Mill River Union School Board, and also coached Little League baseball and was a Boy Scout leader. Ted is survived by his wife, Judith Seward Lidstone, daughters Kimberly Bowen (Brian Gecha) of Brandon, VT, Kelly Doaner (Paul) of Clarendon, VT, and son Keith (Tara) of Wallingford, VT, grandchildren Matthew, Andrew (Eleanor) and Elise, and his brother Philip Lidstone (Winnie) of Mt. Tabor, VT. Ted enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the family camp in Averill, VT. Ted and Judy enjoyed their retirement and made many friends and memories while spending winters in Bradenton, FL. Ted's most important thing was his love for his family. His favorite role was that as a grandparent. He treasured his time with his grandchildren and loved being their "Papa".

There will be a graveside service held on Monday, August 18th at 1:00 pm at the Scottsville Cemetery in Danby Vermont. A celebration of life will be held afterward at the Wallingford Rotary Club, 96 North Main Street, Wallingford, VT.

A special thank you to all the wonderful staff who cared for Ted at Vista Senior Living as well as the staff at VNA & Hospice of the SW Region. Memorials may be made to the Wallingford Parks and Recreation Department, Town of Wallingford, 75 School Street, Wallingford, VT 05773.
