Edward Petti Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home on Dec. 9, 2025.
On December 2, 2025, our brave warrior laid down his shield. Edward Charles Petti was born to Yolanda
and Vincent Petti on July 28, 1939 in the Bronx, New York, one of three boys alongside his brothers,
Vincent and Louis.
Ed grew up in Yonkers, New York, where he attended St. Barnabas Grammar School, Mount St. Michael
Academy, and later Fordham University. After college, he returned to the Mount to teach math and
biology. As a student, he had been a star basketball player and was inducted into the Tower Hall of Fame;
as a faculty member, he was the first to be featured in the Faculty Spotlight.
Ed continued his education at NYU's Stern School of Business, earning a Master's in Operations
Research, and later obtained his CPA from Pace University. His career took him to PepsiCo, Peat,
Marwick, Mitchell & Co., and Continental Bank of Chicago, before he ultimately joined his father's firm,
Petti & Co.
Wherever Ed lived, he invested deeply in his community. While living in Congers, he was active in the
New City Jaycees, worked on committees dedicated to saving Congers Lake, and helped prevent the
construction of a Reynolds Aluminum plant. Upon moving to Glencoe, Illinois, he coached youth
baseball, a role that reflected both his love for athletics and his enjoyment of working with young people.
He and his family later returned to New York, where he contributed to the New Rochelle Rotary Club,
served on the Zoning Board of Appeals, sat on the board of the Coburn Home, served as President of the
Sutton Manor Association, and was an active member of the Westchester C.I.P.A. organization.
Ed is survived by the "love of his life" and wife of 62 years, Rosemary; his beloved children Edward
Charles Jr., Andrea, and Terence; his daughters-in-law Karen and Carrie; his son-in-law Doug Green; his
grandchildren Schuyler, Meghan, Bridget Petti, Chase (Edward Charles), Charlotte, Harrison Green,
Tatum, Sophie, Anna, Juliette Petti, Ronald, Kevin, and Lukas Marroquin; and many loving nieces and
nephews with whom he was close throughout his life, including especially long-standing bonds with
Kathy, Marianne, Sheila, Adrienne, and his predeceased nephew Terence McCullough. He is predeceased
by his parents, Yolanda and Vincent, and his brothers, Vincent and Louis.
A private cremation was held for Ed on December 3, 2025. A celebration of his life, including a Mass, will take place this spring at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Stamford, Connecticut. Date and time will be announced.

I miss you and love you Papa. I will never forget all of our memories together - whether it was going to the New York Sports Club together, attending my basketball games, celebrating so many birthdays and holidays, or just good old times catching up. You taught me so much about life, our family, sports, and academics. I will carry that with me forever.
