Edward Lamar Roberts Sr.

Edward Lamar Roberts Sr 82, of Summit, passed away at his residence on May 19, 2025.
Services will be held at Johnston Chapel Methodist Church on May 21, 2025. Visitation will start at 12:00 PM with services to follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Johnston Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Roberts was born in McComb on August 18, 1942, to the late Henry Clay Roberts and Doris Johnson Roberts. Mr. Roberts was a retired market manager at Winn Dixie where he worked for many years. He was a longtime member of Johnston Chapel United Methodist Church. He loved fishing and gardening. He was married to his devoted wife Sharon for 61 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Russell Roberts and Clayton Roberts; daughter-in-law Angela Roberts; grandson-in-law Landon Schexnayder
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Roberts; daughter Patty (Randall) Whitehead; son Eddie (Linda Kay) Roberts, grandson Cory (Rachel) and Nicholas Roberts, granddaughter Karly Schexnayder, great grandsons Tripp and Rhett Roberts, Lane Schexnayder; great granddaughters Ella and Emma Schexnayder; sister Carol Ann (Clyde) Dillon; brother John (Elaine) Roberts; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Cory Roberts, Nicholas Roberts, Randy Roberts, Robbie Roberts, Clay Roberts, Wayne Roberts, and Harold Williams.
The family would like to thank Deaconess Hospice for their exceptional care over the past year. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Johnston Chapel Methodist Church.
