Edward James Tullis

Edward James Tullis, 80, of Staatsburg, New York, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, New York.
Born on December 28, 1944, in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Andrew Tullis and Georgina (Callaghan) Tullis. Edward earned his bachelor's degree from Utica–Rome and his master's degrees from SUNY Oswego and SUNY New Paltz.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army at the end of the Korean War. Following his military service, Edward dedicated many years to teaching automotive technology at Dutchess County BOCES.
Edward was an active member of Pleasant Plains Presbyterian Church, where he served faithfully as an elder. He was also a proud member of the NRA, the Brigade of the American Revolution, and several local sportsman associations. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and competitive shooting.
In 1969, Edward married the love of his life, Jolene A. Iacobucci, in Schenectady, New York. Together they shared more than five decades of love, laughter, and devotion, spending every day with her before she passed away.
Following Jolene's passing, Edward married Barbara on June 29th, 2013.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Tullis; his daughter, Jolynne Tullis and her husband, Conrad, of Wappingers Falls; his brother, Donald Tullis and his wife, Carolyn, of Ashland, Massachusetts; and many cousins and dear friends.
A memorial service will take place at 1pm on November 14th at Pleasant Plains Presbyterian Church, 2 Fiddlers Bridge Road, Staatsburg, NY.
Burial will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
Edward's family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to Pleasant Plains Presbyterian Church in his memory.
