It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Edwin F. Wilson, who left us unexpectedly on December 13, 2024, at the age of 57. Edwin was a man of immense heart, humor, and love, and his presence brightened every room he entered. He is survived by his devoted wife, Angela, who was the light of his life and his unwavering support. He was a proud and loving father to Stephanie Wilson and Edwin R. Wilson and a doting grandfather to his cherished grandchildren, Deven, Mya, and Kaiden. Dear brother of Brook Atkinson and had a very special connection with his loyal K9 companion, Kingston. Edwin's extended family held a special place in his heart, including a very special niece Amanda (John), along with Ava, Nora (Justin), Aiden, Austin and Damon, as well as his brothers-in-law Errol, Chris and Mike (Amanda) and his beloved mother-in-law, Joyce Hall. He was predeceased by his parents, Herman and Marilyn Wilson, and his treasured dog, Nala. From the moment he became an uncle in 1983, Edwin embraced the role with pride and joy. He lived life to the fullest, often expressing his deep love for others in unconventional but unforgettable ways. Edwin's biggest passion, besides his family, was riding his motorcycle. A true Harley-Davidson enthusiast, he loved collecting anything related to the iconic brand and found pure joy in hitting the open road, wind in his face, and adventure on the horizon. After graduating from high school, Edwin began his career at the FiberMark paper mill in Rochester Hills. He worked there for 15 years, forming many close relationships that he cherished throughout his life. During his high school years, Edwin wrestled for Rochester High School, earning numerous trophies and accolades for his dedication and skill.Edwin was also passionate about classic cars and could often be found at car shows, marveling at the beauty of these timeless machines. A lifelong Detroit Lions fan, he cheered with hope and passion for his team through every season. Harrison, Michigan, was a second home to Edwin, where he found peace and joy at the family cabin, whether he was boating, cruising around on his side-by-side, or simply sharing stories around a bonfire with those he loved. He had a knack for making friends wherever he went, always ready with a wave or a conversation that could brighten anyone's day. A master of frugality, Edwin had a gift for DIY projects, often tackling challenges with creativity and determination. His lifelong friend and "partner in crime," Eddie Coyle, was by his side through countless adventures-from muddy truck escapades to pulling family members behind his snowmobile, creating memories filled with laughter and love. Edwin's greatest legacy was the family he built and the love he poured into them. Whether sharing a story, sparking a laugh, or offering his endless support, he was a man who lived for his family and the moments they shared. He will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered for his humor, generosity, and the way he made life brighter for everyone around him. A visitation to celebrate Edwin's life will be held on Friday (December 20th) from 2pm - 8pm and continue on Saturday (December 21st) from 10am until the time of service at 3pm at the Wm.
