Effie Hisel

Effie Hisel, of Sand Gap Kentucky, was born June 6, 1963, in Richmond Kentucky, and departed this life, December 18, 2024, in London Kentucky. She was 61 years old. She was the daughter of Helen Strong and the late Jessie Darrell Strong.
She is survived by her husband Orvel Hisel and her two children, Ashley (Joshua) Purkey, and Steven (Rachel) Hisel. Effie was blessed with five grandchildren: Gareth and Jayce Purkey; and John, Jacob, and IzzaBella Hisel.
She was also survived by her siblings; James (Edna) Strong, John (Pam) Strong Anne (Wayne) Edmonson, Jessica Strong, and Roslyn (Nathanial) Currier. She was also survived and blessed by a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was also proceeded in death by her brother Calvin Strong and by a niece, Kim Brinegar.
Effie was a member of the Richmond House of Prayer. She was a deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. Her legacy of love and service to others will never be forgotten.
Pallbearers include Wayne Edmonson, Joshua Purkey, Tom Strong, Jerry Rose, Bill Davidson, and Brandon Trent.
Visitation and the Funeral Services will be held at from 11:00 A.M-1:00 P.M. on December 21, 2024, at the Lakes Funeral Home of McKee, with Brother Owen Moody and Brother Jeff Whittemore officiating. Burial will follow at the Hisel, Isaacs, and Coyle Cemetery in Hisel Kentucky.
