Eileen Edythe (Trott) Browning, 86, of Canterbury Woods, Garfield Avenue, Attleboro died on Saturday, February 21, 2004 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Frederick R. Browning who died on February 29, 1996.

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, on May 12, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Zenas and Alice E. (Brown) Trott. She was raised and educated in Attleboro where she was a 1937 graduate of Attleboro High School and where she resided until moving to Citrus Springs, Florida where she lived for 26 years prior to returning to Attleboro 5 years ago. She also attended Bryant College in Smithfield, Rhode Island.

Mrs. Browning was employed by Metals and Controls, Inc. prior to the company being acquired by Texas Instruments and was one of the founders of the former Medals and Controls Credit Union, later known as the Texas Instruments Credit Union and now known as NationsCredit. She worked at the credit union for 32 years prior to her retirement in 1972.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Attleboro and was a 40-year member of the Hope Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Attleboro.
Mrs. Browning enjoyed traveling especially to England, Alaska and other parts of the United States.

She leaves a sister: Evelyne A. Kirby of Attleboro; three cousins in Pennsylvania and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at 10:00 AM in the chapel at Canterbury Woods, 100 Garfield Avenue, Attleboro with the Rev. Dr. John E. Fisk, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Attleboro, officiating. Burial will be in North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro.

Visitation has been respectfully omitted.
