Eilleen "Cissy" Maloney, of Louisville, passed away peacefully at her home on August 19, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David Erle Maloney and Jean Buechel Maloney, and her sister, Susan Maloney Hallenberg. She is survived by her siblings Pat (Gretchen), Tim (Maggie), Deedee (Tim), and Peter; eight beloved nieces and nephews; and an extraordinary circle of friends-each of whom she cherished deeply.
Cissy lived life with energy, joy, and a love of sport. From her basketball days at Holy Spirit and Sacred Heart Academy to tennis at the Louisville Boat Club, and as a tennis pro at Village Tennis Club, she embraced every challenge with enthusiasm. Horses were her greatest passion, and she found true happiness riding and competing with the Louisville Polo Club. Racquetball, pickleball, skiing, sailing, driving, remodeling, entertaining, art, and listening to music that makes you move were some of her other favorite activities often several in the same day!
A pioneer in her career, Cissy broke barriers as the first female sales manager with WAMZ Radio. She also took great pride in her involvement with Leadership Louisville and Bingham Fellows as well as in her career as a Real Estate Agent.
Cissy had an amazing life. She was a connector, a motivator, and a source of joy to everyone she met. Her optimism, warmth, and determination left a lasting impact on family, friends, and colleagues alike.
Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to her friends, caregivers and the Hosparus team for the exceptional compassion and care they provided.
A Mass will be held at Saint Frances of Rome on Friday, August 29th, at 10 am with interment of cremains to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 28th from 4 pm-7 pm at Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews.
